The Beginning is the End and the End is the Beginning

Paper, Textiles, Metal
72 x 100 cm

The Beginning is the End and the End is the Beginning is inspired by her family heritage growing up in Wakefield, where her grandad was a Market Gardener and rhubarb grower for over fifty years. Wakefield is within an area often referred to as the Rhubarb Triangle, famous for its early forced rhubarb.

The Beginning is the End and the End is the Beginning is made up of three distinct sections; paper, fabric and metal. This is the first time Lucy has produced a work featuring all three materials together. The artwork itself represents the transient nature of life, connecting to themes of death, rebirth and transformation.
