My painting is an exercise in change. It grew over weeks of layering, removing layers, layering some more, and ended up somewhere completely new. It was inspired by the textures, colours, and forms in the natural world, and specifically by decaying and eroding surfaces. The painting guides the viewer through some of my own history, and the history of the artwork, by both covering and exposing various surfaces, elements, and materials.
