Martin Gittins
Martin Gittins (b. 1969, Bristol) is an emerging British artist based in the North York Moors National Park. Originally trained in architecture, he holds an MA in Design and Theory in Architecture. His interdisciplinary background informs a painting practice that explores the relationship between landscape, architecture and industrial heritage. Working primarily in oils, Gittins creates speculative landscapes in which observed places intersect with imagined architectonic forms, examining how geology, memory and human intervention continue to shape the environments we inherit.
